Our Offices Survived the Earthquake
We are happy to be back online after our office was the survivor of an earthquake and a hurricane force wind storm. Our back up generators performed perfectly as the main power was lost to our building early saturday morning. Through sideways rain and wind speeds of up to 75 miles per hour our technical support staff kept us up and running without any problems but our internet backbone didn't fair as well. A main connection bridge outside of our network fell victim to the power surges as power tried to come back on only to short and drop out again. The problem was discovered and repaired twice during the seven hour ordeal. The power went out again and damaged the second network bridge. We are happy to be back online now that the wind has calmed down and the near two hundred foot evergreen trees have stopped falling down on power transmission lines in western Washington. Having the best back up generators and power protection grid on our server farm we felt confident that at most we may experience short inavailability to our users, however, problems outside our network in extreme conditions have proven the always reliable predictions of Murphy's Law. In any case, we are happy to be back.
